More pics will follow. Got them tonight, this is a very quick initial fitting. Have a mounting hardware kit to pick up this weekend. Should be all minty my Monday evening.
hahaha, I knew you were going to put them on tonight. You couldn't wait.
No trees were harmed to display the above message ..... however a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced
Mine initially fit great but once they were all bolted to the frame had some issues bolting together... Had to open the holes up a bit, play with them lose and eventually it came together with pretty good alignment. Only one spot I'm unhappy with. But meh it's a track bike pretty much now.
More more more! And post a teaser of the scheme you went with =P Ooo and one suggestion, while you have em apart, reinforce the mounting holes for the headlight and brake light assembly..... you know... if you don't wheelie n' such :P
Scheme I went with is stock. No tank painting for this guy, and I really like the OEM colours. They came from Salinas_Moto or something on Ebay. $465 landed in Canada. Couple holes need to be enlarged, but they all lines up to the correct mounting holes. RC51 may have less issues than a CBR. Seems Honda used absolute minimal amount of hardware to hang them.
Nice choice, Al. Looks great so far.

I've spent more than double that figure on good (not new) stock plastics for mine.
I look forward to seeing when it's done

Wow, I found tons of them in stock colours. I know another one on this board with the same kit, too. Selinas_Moto was the seller. Was $236, plus $228 shipping, or something like that. Came with a free windscreen, too! too bad the screen is solid painted black, and a complete piece of shit.
Just can't stop playing around with it. So far, all holes are lining up nicely. Had to enlarge the main fairing bolt on the side, but that was exactly 4 seconds work with a rat tail file. Still need to cut the slider holes, which is why it's sticking out at the bottom, but I don't see any real fitment issues here. Also worth noting the ABS is very flexible, finished ok(edges aren't OEM, but decent, and the paint is just fine. Nice and shiny, not soft like others have said. Only issue I see in the paint is that the red is a shade closer to orange than the tank is. Oh well.....
Well done, sir! Nice clutch cover, too.
I can finally sleep well at night knowing that another RC51 has been restored to its former glory.
Hang on, is that a dent in the tank?
Well you get a chocolate cookie for noticing the clutch cover! And you get a poo cookie for noticing the dented tank.
That's on the hit list for later this year. My daily use tank bag covers about 3/4 of it anyway.
