I think I briefly mentioned this in another thread, but now I wanted to start something formal to find out if anyone has any experiences, recommendations or comments about this... I will be graduating from my qualifications course and will likely be posted to CFB Halifax. Now the military usually offers too choices. Option A, get on the plane and show up there 8 hours later or... option b, drive there with your vehicle. If i am posted out east, my vehicle to there is my trusty new 2010 GSXR 600. Not exactly a cruise bike, but who's to say it can't be done ?.
So this is my question, has anyone done a similar trip or any experience with long rides like that. I will be given approximately 15 days to make the trip. I will be allotted way more money than i need for fuel and hotel and once i hit Montreal, Quebec (approximately 13 hours away from halifax) I have the option of parking my bike at my dads place and driving the stang down the rest of the way. So at the least I would do roughly 5000kms... Just be, the bike, a rucksack filled with supplies and the open roads.
