last week i changed my oil. Easy enough, but where does one dump the old motor oil.
I call a local gas station and they said they don't take it.
So i call up the city of vancouver and they told me to call the bc recycling council. They told me that any place in BC that sells motor oil is legally abligated to take your old oil back at no charge.
and if they won't take it, there must be a place within 4kms of where you bought it that will take it. It's the law. They even told me i can just leave it there, it's their responsibility to handle the oil.
So i took my old oil to the petro canada. The people working there said they would not take the oil. so i told them it's the law that they take it back. they still said no. I then siad OK then, I will report you to the recycling council. So they took the oil, but it think they will just throw it in the garbage.
where do you guys usually dump your oil? i want to avoid the hassle next time.
