The time has come again, since you lot are very good at answering anything but sportbike questions, I've got another one for ya
Finally got the ICBC write off cheque for my beloved mutant ninja quarterbike, not nearly enough to purchase another one, don't have any enough savings. Since I'll be able to ditch the cane for a bicycle very soon, I thought I'd invest in a decent road bike rather than taking the loser cruiser. Mostly for 20km commuting, grocery, and weekend touring.
I see tons of them on craigslist, pinkbike, usedvictoria, ranging from $50-$2000+ Aside from colour, I have no idea which one of them is suitable.
After some google search, I came up with a very limited list:
- not fixed gear (hills)
- 58cm +/- 2cm frame 23" (5'11)
- flat or road bars, doesn't matter, though road bars look cooler
- v brakes
- can mount mud guards for rain season
- can mount a rack for panniers
What kind of things should I be looking for when it comes to a road bike? I have a budget of ~$800
Is there such a thing as KBB for bicycles?
This one look good?
