So i test drove the 636 today. Green (The grren ones faster) It rode pretty damn good. It has high rev power and really good power to weight ratio. I was able to get the nose off the ground in first like nothing, second again like nothing and even in third with a little compression push. Was able to get the nose up around 100k. Not that its all about wheelies but they sure are fun.
It feels like a 750, Rides and handels like a tweeked our kawi 6 almost gives that liter bike feel..almost. #50 pounds with 120 at the crank. (according to the guys at B.K.) Two things i didn't like about it; 1, The clip ons (handel bars) are not as angeled as waht i am use to, Example Yamaha. It was kinda sore on the wrist but i think it is just a conditioning thing. 2, Only one head lights comes on when low beams are on. Hate that. (Makes the bike heaver on one side.
This kawi likes the corners big time. I never felt so comfy in a turn at such high speeds. Sturdy as a gixxer and i am not even sure if it had a dampaner. I don't think it did. The brakes were like nothing i have ever felt. So smooth, didn;t feel a whole load of dip either when braking hard.
This bike really likes the high RPMs, screams with the stock exhast, but i would still change it for something lighter. Like most 600s the power isn't available untill about 6000. Bike won't come up b4 that really with throtel that is. Alot of neat features, lap counter (as if i would take it on the track, and if i did wouldn't be distracting my self with the lap counter) rev light, a bunch of other stuff that went in one ear and out the other cuz i was itching to take it for a ride.
Still not sure what color, probley silver. So no body get the silver!!! I told myself that i won't make any rush choices. But i am pretty sure this is the one for me.
Thanks to Burnaby Kawi for being such good help. Trust me if i pick this bike you have my buissnes.
