Hey, guys. I just crashed my bike. Rip me a new one, give support/advice, it's all welcome.
I was going through a corner but I somehow managed to crashed the bike on 272 and 84th. I've been through this corner a few times, so I don't know what happened. I think I used too much brake when I wasn't even straightened out. I might have been going too fast, but I don't think I was, I've been through it before and a couple of witnesses walking down the road (not the actual incident, I passed by them) said I wasn't going too fast either.
Anyways, my bike's pretty banged up. I'm more worried about the bike than myself, which I feel really guilty about considering the bike's materialistic.
Side fairings are cracked. The left said had something ripped off. Left turn signal's broken. It's not snapped, but the wires just pulled out or whatever. Shift lever is bent. Throttle doesn't snap back.
I got an appointment with ICBC on Monday. I'm not too sure if I wanna claim it through them, I don't want my insurance to go up nor my record to be tainted. Insurance right now is $173 with 0% discount.
So any good places that can fix this? At the moment, I can live with the plastics being cracked, but I need the shifter, throttle and left-turn signal (front) fixed unless there's something wrong with the engine. I turned it on and the engine runs but it took a while to actually get it started. Maybe it had a hard time starting because it was banged up?
I can provide photos, but I don't know if there's some legal ramifications for that. Maybe ICBC will get mad? lol
Btw, I should've listened to mickm lol. I was telling him earlier how I stopped going on back-roads coz I lack a riding partner in case something happens. Luckily, there was a couple of people going for a walk to help me out.
