Chapter 4 - Denali National Park
For the first time since we left Bellingham, rain as caught to us, on our way towards Homer. And therefore is made sense to take a day off, to visit Denali National Park on our way South. The weather was lousy to ride into, but it was pretty much horrible to try to see anything in Denali apart from wildlife of course.
We learned quickly that 70% of the park visitor, never see Mt McKinley.
The road riding south from Fairbanks, was pretty 'bland' at the very least between Fairbanks and Anchorage. It is worth noting that it was the stretch of road where police present was more noticeable.
No private vehicle is allowed in the park, as it is pretty much the norm now in many of them. But in this case it make especially good sense. I discovered in the local press that once a year a lottery is organized and the lucky winners get to drive their private vehicles in.
