As the riding season is here (or near), I debated about getting soft luggage (namely a tail bag) for my Ninja ZX 6R - as I commutte to work (thus, I need to pack change of clothes and sometimes a laptop). But I am afraid a tail bag may not be able to store all this stuff and a backpack may be more versatile (as I can use it with my bicycle as well).
I used a crummy, 11 year old backpack for the past 2 seasons that I had have since my university days, and the material is thin and it doesn't hold any shape when it is on my back. But it could sure hold a lot!
I already search the forums, but wanted a more recent poll.
What do you suggest for a backpack that
1) can hold a reasonable amount of stuff
eg. - clothes and a laptop
2) looks reasonably cool on a sportbike rider (eg. no need for joe rocket leather backpacks for $200 but don't want a $20 wal mart either)
3) can be reasonably versatible (eg can use it with a bicycle, day hiking or just lugging stuff around
4) reasonably comfortable to wear
I will check out MEC, I am not too picky about brand, but as long as it is funtional, versatile and has some coolness to it.
