I have a Dell Power Edge 2800 server that has Windows 2003 on it. This server has been running for quite a few years. At the beginning when it came preconfigured from Dell, they partitioned drive C (system) with 11GB and D (data) with 120GB.
Over the years and after many Windows updates and whatever Windows does, my drive C is now almost at capacity. I have done all I can to minimize running out of space. I have installed applications only on drive D, set my page file to drive D, delete all the windows updates within windows directory that start with $uninstall..., cleanup temp/internet/install files, etc..
I have consulted DELL and one of them suggested that I rebuild my server with new partition reallocation/configuration, which I would leave as my last option because this takes up so much time.
I have a friend that suggest I change over to LINUX with virtual server setup where my Windows 2003 runs on top of the LINUX virtual server. I like this one because of the rollouts/managements/backups/etc...but will go with it at later time.
My question: Is there an easy way to repartition the SCSI drives through some software?
Note: I think my system is configured as RAID 1 with PERC hardware running 2 SCSI drives on it. Thanks!
