Well , it's been 2 years since it tossed my Daytona 675 down the highway , been riding the harley since then but it's just not the same . So I am giving it to my brother for as long as he wants it until my son gets old enough . Been on the prowl for a new mount for sometime now , had a big list to start with and narrowed the field to 3 styles and multiple bikes .
BMW S1000 / Ducati 848 ( then I remembered I just got divorced and have no money ) besides I want comfort , not 19 anymore ya know !!
GS800 / Buell Ulysses / KLR / Verseys kitted out ( in reality , most guys don't off road and spend 80% of their riding on the street except the hardcore dualsportBC guys ) and the 20 % is mostly nice gravel campsite type road that an aprillia race bike could handle , plus my bad back from the triumph crash and my old man knees didn't like the prospect of pot holed /muddy roads and a heavy bike not really meant for that style of riding , may as well buy a motard or dirt bike for that .
--Sport Touring --
2009 VFR 800 in white ( classic ) / FJR 1300 / ST 1300 / Concourse 1400 ( all great mile eaters with comfort and reliability )
So sport bike out due to bad back , and crappy touring range of tank . plus I have ridden too many to care anymore . Dualsport would be really fun here in BC but I'm a road warrior at heart and need to eat the scenery all day . So clearly Sport -Touring is the choice , but how to decide .......
Penis size seems the obvious rule to gauge here !!!
Yamaha FJR out ---- one of my oldest riding buddies is a yammy guy and if I buy a YammaHaha , he would never let me live it down and then he would assume his penis is bigger than mine, so obviously I can't purchase a yamaha !!!
VFR and Connie ---- this is a tough one , both great choices , but the Man sausage compensation chart comes into play here , if I buy the Connie 1400 cc everyone will think I have a tiny pocket rocket and am compensating by buying a bigger bike ( CDG is the exception here ) ......that said , my junk isn't big enough to buy a small bike like a VFR 800cc , it's not my fault , I'm Irish , 1000 years of cold wind blowing up our kilts does not do well for shrinkage repellent factor ( SRP ). In the end I went with the Honda ST 1300 ABS , a good sized machine that can still pull off a few good moves and is comfortable in it's own skin , doesn't mind taking it's time to ''get there '' , It may be a little heavier than others but it can still "get the job done" when needed . Anyhoo , quit reading and go ride you bastids , see you out there and don't forget to finger me when you ride by ..............cause mine is bigger than yours .......lol . Cheers ---J
edit: pic added---- I hope anyways
