Just thought I'd look over a few things today before letting my girlfriend take it out. You know, make sure everythings tight and torqued to spec.
Well normally I'd just check the wheels, brakes, triple T, Major things you don't want falling off the bike, but there are a few places you might not pay much attention to.
I noticed my gear shift foot rest was kind of loose. There is a small nut on the back side of it that requires removal of the entire assembly to actually tighten. It was fairly loose. I don't know how long that went unnoticed for. It really didn't seem to affect the bike at all. So this prompted me to check everywhere...So I did!
Everything else had been worked on recently so it was all good, but I thought I'd pass the message off just the same. Over the years vibrations and various heat and stress cycles can cause things to loosen. Things you never think about, like the foot rests.
OH: and make a spare copy of your key, girlfriend snapped mine in two last night some how.
