Found bike for sale, Good or Bad?
Someone on another thread I started suggested looking at 2nd Gear Motor Sports…. I did and I found a bike that looks interesting http://2ndgearmotorsport.com/details...bikes&index=15 From what the guy told me (he’s probably reading this right now ) is its been brought from the US, it is a Kawasaki Ninja 650r. It has I guess 13000 miles on it, and it has toke a bit of a tumble at some point as the right side faring has got scrape marks on it. The left side has some scratches but it’s not too bad. The asking price it 4300$.
I don’t know anyone else with experience on this subject to ask for advice so I thought I would ask you guys (and girls) as you all seem pretty honest. Does something like this sound like a good/bad/average deal. Does the fact that the bike is from the US and the odometer and speedometer are in miles cause me any problems with registration and insurance down the road? Can it be changed to Km?
And most importantly, would this be a good first bike?
My opinion.....$4300 for that imported bike, with damage, from a crash, no bargain.

Check Craigslist. There are several for sub 4k.
Not a good deal whatsoever
Last year I bought my 07 SV650S with less than 5000km on it for $3300. Previous owner lowsided and there was some very minor cosmetic damage that I fixed to be virtually unnoticable for less that $50. It is also a local canadian bike. The ninja 650 is a great bike but like stated above, certainly not a great deal at that price/condition.
