Ummm...low on fuel?
Doesn't it start flashing when you get low, then stay steady when you're on reserve?
I'm not too familiar with the R6.
Can sone one tell me what a flashing fuel light on an 02 R6 means? I left my manual at home (doh) and Im at my parents.

Ok, I will start with the obvious - fill it up, does it go away.
As far as I know the fuel light is not used as a trouble indicator for other things. I have heard about people having trouble with the sensor in the tank getting gummed up and not working or giving false readings, maybe yours is going.
got it, forgot to hook up the fuel sensor for the tank. Thanks.

just so everybody knows... and spink found out...
when the Fi light blinks on MOST Fi motorcycles, it is an indication of a failure in the system. the subsequent codes caused by the failure can be accesed by entering special "delear modes".

Fuel light is different.
For Suzuki's:
Blinking = Low on Fuel
Steady = Really low on Fuel.

The 'Fi' light is very different than the 'Fuel' light. One is the Fuel Injection system, the other is the float in the gas tank.

Thank god for that.
you gotta luv it when things are simple and don't cost money to fix.

On my 99 R6, my fuel light never worked...When I start the bike, the fuel light goes on for a sec and then turns off (normal) and then since I've had the bike, it's never gone on. I learned that it didn't work the hard way![]()
However, yesterday when I was going up Cypress, my fuel light came on and the digital part started displaying "F. XXkms" on reserve...But the weird thing is, I just filled up! Now it randomly comes on and off !
Anyone have any idea what's going on?
flashing fuel light mean put fuel in me
2 wheels or 4 wheel drive
Why do bikes have to have these complex fuel-level meters?
Drill a hole in the top of the tank and put in a basic fuel level meter like they use on small boats. All it is is a cork/float that slides up and down on a spiral spindal that turns a neddle. No reserve lights. no connectors, no bloody 8-position LED displays.
