Well folks I insured my bike day before yesterday. Shelled out $2,400 to ICBC. Yesterday after work I went to BK to install the Ivan's jet kit I had purchased earlier.
While waiting for the install, Trevor, kindly let me test ride the Z1000, loved the bike, totally different feel. First time I sat on it with it running and reached for the handle bars...it felt funny, my first time on a "hooligan" bike , seriously a fun bike. Was surprised by the lack of turbulance even at highway speed. Loved the fact that I could be in top gear and still roll on from 2,000rpm no shifting required....want to pass that speeding RSX ? just roll it on baby ! ...should have seen that guy's face...lol
Well I came back all beaming and then requested Trevor to let me ride the new 6R...here he warned me "now let me tell you Farhad, i will give you the keys, but you are only going to torture yourself..." something along those lines....and boy was he right, that has to be the best damn 600 ever.
I again went up to SFU...only this time I went 3 times, u-turning at broadway interesction to take that nice left hand sweeper with no traffic....confidence, absolute confidence builder, it felt the bike was telling me, this all you got boy ? this is it ? I haven't even stretched my legs yet...throttle response was beautiful and despite it being a sunny day I had no problem with viewing the tach it was crystal clear...
the chassis is spot on, love the suspension setup, lots of people saying it's setup too stiff from the factory but I like it stiff and I found it to be perfect.
The brakes were out of this world, wanna stop in a hurry no problemo, I can't say enough about these brakes.
then I came back and waited for my bike to be done...that's when my world shattered, it seems the ram air intake spokes in the carbs. have been destroyed, looked like someone took a spanner and tried to work on it. As Ron explained what, and how, my heart sank, I had some idea of how much I was looking at but I wasn't even close....
Again Manny, Ron and Rick, the mechanic, setup instantly to help me, where someone would stop and say sorry and open the order book, and I would have needed a complete new bank of carbs. costing around $2,000 alone, they went into overdrive, not caring what or the consequences they continued working on the bike....
in short they gifted me a complete bank of carbs. not only that, they only charged me for the ivan's install....
there is nothing in this world, that can explain the gratitude I have towards these guys, not even the magic of riding the 636 for the first time can override the feelings I have for these guys.
So here is thanks to the guys at Burnaby Kawasaki once again and to top it all off it's Manny's B'day today
so Manny happy B'day again, best wishes, health, wealth and hapiness always.
