So I sold my Street Triple R last fall as I was not using it as much as I thought. While an absolutely fantastic bike I didn't feel it was the right one for me.
Over the winter I was trying to figure out what direction I wanted to go. The bike would be my main transportation around town (mostly errands as I am lucky enough to be a 10 min walk from work) and I was visions of longer rides through BC and WA etc. I knew it had to be comfortable as this was part of the reason I sold the STR. If riding is not a pleasure then it will limit my use. I also was not a huge fan of the bike in Vancouver traffic as stop and go can get a little tiresome.
About a month ago i finally decided what I was going to do. I purchased a 2011 Vespa 300 Super for most of my errands in town. Great storage capabilities as well as just twist and go and oh so flickable due to its size. I know, I know it is a scooter but at least it is one of the coolest ones available.
Now the second half of my plan is to get a bike that would be comfortable and could be used for some light touring as mentioned above. I am way past the speed thing so I'm not to worried about the fastest bike. I want a good "all rounder". The 2 bikes I have narrowed it down to are not the prettiest but I think will fit my needs perfectly.
V-Strom 650 or the Kawasaki Versys
I know there are a few V-Strom and Versys owners here so opinions wanted please.
I know there is a new V-Strom coming out which looks a little better IMO compared to the current model. The V-Strom also can be had with ABS if so desired. But I have to admitt I like the looks of the Versys a little better but no ABS option...so again opinions wanted.
A couple of pics of my current ride just to piss of the motorcycle "diehards"
