Hey guys. This is a shameless self plug. I thought you guys might like this video... although it doesn't hate on the police, so maybe you guys won't like it!
Anyway... the rest of this post is copied from my website (sorry bout that) i've been so busy ahhh. anyway please watch it and share it if you like it. It has taken me the past two weeks, working basically non-stop, to get this made. I was trying to release it earlier but got held up with music licensing BS....
(pasted from my website)
Vancouver: Riot/Police takes a candid look at the police action taken on June 15th, 2011, when people rioted after the Vancouver Canucks were defeated by the Boston Bruins in game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals in Vancouver, BC.
Approximately 100,000 disappointed fans were gathered at Georgia and Hamilton streets, watching the game on big screens set up by the city near the CBC building in downtown Vancouver. Some of these fans took it upon themselves to emulate the actions of drunken fans seventeen years ago when the Vancouver Canucks lost to the New York Rangers in game seven of the 1994 Stanley Cup finals.
I was watching the Vancouver Canucks’ meltdown against the Boston Bruins just like everyone else. When the pictures of trouble began coming in on the TV, I set out from my place in Chinatown to document the growing situation downtown.
When I arrived at the live viewing site at Georgia and Hamitlon Street I was astonished. The people in the crowd, draped in Canucks colours and loaded with booze, were cheering, chanting and celebrating as they overturned cars and set fire to the city. The police had just moved in and I was able to capture the majority of the crowd disbursement around the live viewing site.
