Ok, got my bike back on the road. New hindle highmount looks and sounds fantastic (thanks DKR!). Picked up some LP USA short stalk signals for the front and rear (new style) - also looks soooo nice, wait until you see the pictures.
The problem: The front replacement signals were 2 wire. My originals, 3 wire (with running light). I tested and it seemed to work if I spliced the two postive wires together (ie: both the signal, and the running light leads) to the positive wire of the replacement. Worked great... solid on while running lights are on, and blinking when signal on. So happy! Put everything back together, go to put it back in its place and I notice that the dash indicators for the signal lights are solid on. DAmn!!!! The current is feeding back through to the dash indicators. Still blinks when the signals are on, but solid at all other times.
So my questions are:
1) I guess my alternatives are to not hook up the running lights, or to buy some proper 3 wire lights which eventually I will do one of. Does anyone have another idea for me that might work instead?
2) If I run like this for a little while, do you thinks its a bad idea? It should be fine (although a little annoying) to have the dash indicators on full time, right?
3) Has anyone else had this same issue?
Thanks in advance,
