Ok, so at the end of last season I went for a ride and I noticed that there was a lack of throttle response (i.e. when I gave it gas, it was like it was going through in spurts and the ride was very choppy). The gas didn't seem to be getting through well. As well, when I would put the clutch in when stopping or down shifting for a corner, the bike would just die and I would have to restart it. Before I could get home, the bike stalled one last time and would not start back up. So I had to get it towed to my home.
So basically, it sat all winter unable to start. A couple of weeks ago I took it to pacific yamaha and they "fixed" it. They told me it was a mixture of things adding to the problem. The comments on the work order were:
"Service, flush carbs, dirty gas, replace spark plugs, replace air filter boots (poor fit causing air leak), replace throttle cabl, change oil and filter, oil overfull, gas leaking into engine."
So I get my bike back and two days later, riding home from UBC, my bike once again goes "Ka-put" near the airport (prior to which I was noticing the exact same symptoms as earlier, ie. lack of throttle response)! Once again unable to start, I had to park my bike in burkeville over night. I phoned Pacific Yamaha the next day and they said that it is possible that there might be water in my gas tank or maybe a dirty fuel filter. They told me to add more gas. So I did the next morning, and it started, I rode it home but I am still experiencing the throttle response problems. When it is idling, if I blip the throttle, the engine cuts off . I am afraid to ride it now b/c I don't want to get stuck somewhere for the third time! What do you guys think it might be? and what should I do? Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.
