Just got a letter in the mail saying I need to pay a drivers risk premium for an excessive speeding ticket I was issued in 2009???
When I went to insure my vehicle last year (August) I already had paid the $320 drivers risk premium . The letter I recieved prior to my insurance renewal in 2010 made NO mention of subsequent charges...It simply said I owed $320......which I paid. Over the last year I have been able to do a 5 year renewal on my licence and even get my full class 6 licence with no mention of any money owed at all...
NOW I get this letter and it says I could (and am) being billed for up to THREE years for the charge? WTF???
Is the three year thing new?? I am positive the letter I recieved last year made no mention of susequent billing. I am thinking this may have been pushed through with their recent stiffer laws. If so, it's bullshit that a person can be billed for a 2009 ticket based on new laws..
If a person has to pay $320 for three years that's a pretty hefty total amount (almost a grand).
My issue is that I may be getting billed for a 2009 ticket that may be part of this NEW stiffer fine legislation
