So due to a pretty serious bail a few years ago, I have a #$%&$'ed ankle and it's time I smartened up and bought a proper pair of boots.
I have a partial fusion in my ankle (no side to side movement anymore but I still have maybe 80% up and down), several pins, next to no tension in my ligaments/tendons, etc.. and I'm still rocking the same tall leather work boots that I wiped out in back in 2006 (doc said that had I been wearing sneakers then my foot would have been torn right off so I'm a little fond of my work boots haha)
My questions all lie around what I am going to be looking for in a proper pair of boots. I obviously need the bulk of protection around my ankle and heel, but I also need them to be roomy in the ankle due to the cankle-ness of my gimpy-ness. I also get a significant amount of pain from footwear that pushes on the front/top of my ankle (Some tendon or something in there just under the surface with a serious attitude problem).
Clear as mud? good.
Anyone have any clue what I'm talking about and can lend some insight?
(I'll try to find my x-ray scans and post them)
