Day 3 Rides South of John Day
Jfviffer had this suggestion.
" When I did the ride with rick a couple of yrs ago my 2 favorite rds in that area were 245 dooly mnt to herford
and austin to susanville was another memorable rd, follows john day river. when i get a chance i will defiantly return to those 2 roads.
http://www.scenicdrivesusa.com/node/158 It sounds like some of this is gravel.
Day 4 Make our way to Hell's Canyon possibly into Idaho
Oxbow Dam, Brownlee Dam Idaho
Day 5 Start Heading Home
Doser had this suggestion. I have been up around this way.
If you're in the Hells Canyon area, DO NOT miss the Wallowa Mtn loop (FSD Rd #39). it is incredibly twisty across from Oxbow on the Snake River to Joseph (which is a beautiful town, with a superb lake under the N side of the Wallowa Mtns). best by far S to N, so the tightest stuff is uphill.
There is a lookout over Hells Canyon halfway. it's really high (about 6500ft) so it requires good weather.
Baker City, Ukiah, Heppner, Hwy 14 WA
Day 6 If Need Be
Thisl is a very rough format. Will add more as the dates come up.
