I have a few basic points of interest I want to visit this long weekend taking off Friday and Tuesday.
Glacier Park, Lolo, Old Spiral highway are the Primary points
Toad Rock Camping, Coulee Dam are Secondary goals.
Ver 1 Ver 2
Camping is optional if I had someone to split rooms with. Most places will be busy this last long weekend and I would probably stop near large towns.
Day one would leave either Thursday after work or Friday morning (early) to head east. If we left Thursday a Northern route would stop at either kamloops or kelowna area then continue through Nakusp to end near kooteney lake or across the border.
Day 2 heads to Glacier National Park stopping either in the park, along flathead lake or down the side-road towards missoula.
Day 3 heads down Lolo pass stopping anywhere from Lewiston or North after the Old Spiral Highway
Day 4 can either involve a ride home Sunday or exploration around eastern washington that may end north of the Coulee dam.
Day 5 is optional and would place us home in the early afternoon Tuesday
I won't get an excessive but I might get a ticket. What's considered excessive speed in Idaho? I remember reading it has big penalties. I won't rail the straights and rain isn't much of a bother.
I'm fine with riding from dusk to dawn with minimal stops but willing to relax. The route is flexible around my primary goals.
If you're serious about coming and capable of tackling technical roads dressed for a crash with appropriate U.S. coverage you're welcome to join me.
Meeting time and place are negotiable.
Any suggestions or cautions I should follow along this route? Sorry about the notice I just started planning today.
