Bike was totaled last week. I turned left onto a side-street, vehicle on left into the bike.
The bumper folded around the crash bars like a W going through the engine head into the motor, the middle made it to the fairing behind my leg, the rear made it far enough to hit the exhaust.
The bike was tossed over the high side to blow through the mirror protector and mirror and windscreen to slide 20-30 feet folding all the bars.
The impact pushed my leg forward into the fairing bruising a hand worth of flesh and three fingers worth of skin. I have bumper and fairing paint on my pants but it brushed off and didn't break a thread of material.
Landing from the highside I broke a golfball worth of skin, crumbled the back of the helmet and rolled across my shoulders, back and knees several times.
There's a good bruise around the circumference of my boot cuff, the top layer of skin and bruising was through my gear and armor some consider the best money can buy.
I have over $2500 invested in riding training, ride every day, practice around 1 hour weekly, some track, 60,000km of street riding over 9 years, met the motor officer course requirements, some dirt as a kid and read/watched most instructional material. I have upgraded lighting, a large bike, wear high vis and double signal lights with hand signals but wasn't seen and wasn't capable of avoiding collision.
I don't have any lasting injuries and beacon has taken care of my claim. The helmet saved my head and neck, the jacket saved my back and shoulder, the pants saved my knee and shin, the boots saved my shin and ankle. ATGATT.
