After the big run to the cup I thought I would give the new team a look. Playing against the Oilers they look so slow and lame, not finishing checks too many passes before shooting, and stupid penalties...

Kes & Raymond still on IR, no replacement for the big German, Ehrhoff. This was not a good offseason.

He was on a plane to Mannheim, where the Sabres are playing their next game. He's 29 and basically figured that this was his one and only chance to make it big in free agency, and did he ever. As much as I can't believe a player leaving a successful team and city he loved living in, it's hard to argue with 18 million over two seasons.
