You know those electronic displays that are sometimes on the side of the road, showing you your speed? It occurred to me the other day that they are utterly useless. The consensus around the bar was that everyone speeds up, just to see the numbers climb on the display.
Then it hit me, this genius of an idea that only comes out when you're two pitchers in: instead of showing your speed, how about changing it to show the amount of the ticket you'd be getting?
Showing me that I'm doing 75 in a 50 doesn't do shit for me. Showing me $196 on that same display might be a bit more effective.
