Beautiful autumn weather, tho cold... anyone interested in joining me for a trip thru Pemberton to do the Duffey out and back? Not sure yet whether that'll be all the way to Lillooet or not (my thinking at the moment is just the good pavement to Gott Creek, then back - could add a run to D'arcy and back if there is time in the afternoon). Sunset is 6:20, and I'd like to be back in Van before dark, say 7pm latest.
Meet at 9:45 at the brake check pullout on Upper Levels, 1km west of Westmount exit (7km west of Taylor Way) - the church parking lot is NOT a meeting spot on Sunday mornings! Please arrive with a full tank and an empty bladder, ready to ride - days are short! There is a Chevron at the Westmount exit. (Actually, there is a toilet at the pullout, so the 2nd stipulation can be met 'on site'.) Ride at 10am sharp. Fuel stops at Pemberton, both ways.
I don't plan to ride super-fast; this is about the views (at least till we get to the Duffey). It'll be cold - it was only 4C in Whistler this morning at 11am, and just 6C up on the Duffey this afternoon (and feeezing overnite both places) - so dress appropriately. For myself, I reckon on a small number of photo stops too, but those are personal, not group 'photo-ops'...
I'm into fast food rather than a leisurely lunch, again because of the shortness of the days and the late start.
So, anyone feeling hardy?
