Not sure where to ask other than in the tech forum so please forgive me.
I am looking to replace the fuel tank on my 79 Yamaha SR500. The fuel tank is a poorly custom welded era-specific fuel tank from another Yamaha (maybe an XT or something) and replicated to look like an AJS 7R race tank.
I did some searching online and found there are other replica tanks available for my bike, specifically the AJS 7R and the Manx Norton fuel tank. They are fiber glass reinforced tanks. Are these safe for street use? Any particular hazards or cautions I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance!
