So me and three other BCSB 'member's tooled around on the Duffey this afternoon. What a fabulous day for a ride, today. 15 degrees and sun, sun, sun (and no cars)!
Thing is - I got ten pounds of road salt on my bike now, as they're salting the road up there at night, then the ice melts in the day's heat, dissolves the salt which liquid then sprays up on everything. What a fucking mess.
Oh - and on the way back - well, there were some very nice, fast STS 'sweepers' that were just teasing and beckoning and calling ... and man did we ever have some fun ripping up that fast one(at the speed limit, of course ) ...
but when a few minutes later this big-ass chopper comes burning past the STS within spitting distance, and one of the group was just jamming it up in some nice/fun twisties again (didn't see the chopper till right after the fun section) - well, needless to say it was quite nerve-wracking for a few minutes, until the 'bird' (it was painted all black or some other dark color) just droned off down along the coast making no mind of what was going on. It looked like a very expensive private chopper of some sort, or a military one.
Anyway - a splendid day out there. Probably one of this season's last.
