I was riding to North Van from Langley tonight and was pondering about road and wheel temperatures when I looked across at the eastbound traffic and saw 3 cars with their hazards on and a bike on its side. Quickly got off the highway and spun around to see if everyone was ok.
When I got there the bike (white/red/black 929rr) was upright and being loaded into a pickup. The rider, Keith, was alright but frustrated. A cager on a cellphone merged onto the highway from the 176th onramp and almost hit him. He had to back off at which point he gave the driver a flick of the highbeams to let him know he was there. The driver then hit the brakes hard, forcing Keith to lockup and hit the back of him and go down. The driver then took off, leaving Keith and the bike on the ground in the middle of the highway.
Tonight it was just a bike but keep your heads up out there. Keith, if you're on here, gald you're alright.
