Well, it's time to buy me a new laptop as my old Toshiba Satellite's LCD display finally died. I figure between Costco, NCIX and Staples I should find something decent in the $400 to $600 price range.
What's the best machine you've seen recently in terms of price / performance / really nice conventional keyboard / good track-pad? It's gotta have a larger HD and HDMI too. A non-glare screen would be nice but is not essential.
The new Acers are good, but I already have two of them and I do not like the location of the cursor keys, the location of home / page up / page down / end keys and the weirdly flat qwerty keyboard.
I will not be gaming on it, but I do like to multitask a bit. I will not be doing any heavy editing / processor-intensive stuff though.
There are so many Asus / Toshiba / Dell / HP model numbers that it's hard to confirm which unit is better in terms of price / performance / good keyboard / good track-pad.
