I am paying way too much for home phone, internet and cable.
I am not really tech savvy and would appreciate some help.
Right now we have a Shaw bundle (phone, internet, TV). We have 4 relatively new TVs and only 1 has a digital box. I have 2 teenage kids who want home Wi Fi for their ipod touches (right now we get some spill-over from our neighbours).
What I would like to do is get rid of the Shaw home phone (go to Magic Jack). I will probably keep the high-speed internet.
I am thinking of trying something different for TV (satellite?) and I would really like to get a PVR that I could use for at least 2 of our TVs.
I'd like to try Net Flix but would prefer to be able to send it to my TV instead of watching it on the computer. We do not have a gaming system.
I'd like to get Wi Fi because my kids will need lap tops for school very soon. I don't know very much about wireless routers or whatever is needed to set up home wi fi.
As much as possible, I would like to purchase equipment myself and get away from big companies like Shaw and Telus.
I would welcome any ideas as to what my options are and where I can get some advice as to how to set things up.
