I had my bike in at the dealer (who will remain anonymous for now) to have the valves adjusted along with a few other things. Right after I got it back, it ran like crap at low speed. Bad flat spot and stumble off a standing start. I took it back for them to check it over again and they told me it was all just fine. It was quite obvious that this was not something that developed over time; it was night and day. At times, it was actually dangerous getting around in urban traffic and merging onto main roads.
I took it to another dealer and they determined that the first dealer had reinstalled both cam's incorrectly. Both were off by one tooth. The second dealer corrected the problem. Now the bike runs beautifully.
I requested a refund of the money I paid to have the job done as they did not do what they were paid for. They very kindly offered me a $100 gift certificate as a "token of our appreciation" and because "... we all feel sorry for your bad experience."
What would you do?
