As some of you may know, I am the owner/partner of Rally Management Services and Team Rally PanAm. Unfortunately our 2012 Dakar effort ended barely after the event began. While our customer riders continue on with the race, our team rider and good friend Jonah Street has withdrawn from Stage 2 of the race due to electrical problems yesterday.
And earlier today, Jonah announced publicly, his retirement from rally racing.
Jonah has had a great career in racing. Amongst his many achievements, he won the Baja 500 three times and finished second in the Baja 1000 twice. In 2010, we stood on the Dakar podium in Argentina finishing 7th overall.
Racing can be a stubborn/frustrating and expensive mistress. But in the end, the fun… the excitement… the sense of accomplishment, and best of all the friendships… it is an experience like no other.
Just want to say a big thank you to Jonah for all the good times and best wishes to the future.
