Has anyone here have any experience with bike to bike intercoms/headsets? I think this year (maybe at the Abby bike show if good prices) my wife and I will pick up headsets to talk on our tours.
We've done fine with hand signals for 6+ years sport touring, but it would be nice to confirm that yes, we want to stop here for coffee/washroom vs. misreading hand signals, etc.
We don't need all the fancy bells and whistles of voice phone dialing, ipod blue tooth capability, etc. Just be able to speak to each other on tours.
Seems like the Scala and Cardo systems get good reviews, but to get the best distance/sound quality you have to get the top models with the bells and whistles (which is fine, I just know we won't use them and hate paying the extra $100 if I don't have to).
Anyone here have any experience with intercom systems? Any recommendations?
We ride with full face helmets and ear plugs, but sounds like even with ear plugs audio is understandable (unless super windy or 160+ km /h.
