A few years back I flirted with the idea of going on my own and running a business. It was during the 2008 recession, but I was forturnate enough to find fair paying employment and the work I put into creating the company name, opening a bank acct., website and so-forth was put together but never used. Now, 3 years later, 2 different jobs I've gone back to those initial starts, purchased insurance, bought a van and began promoting my plumbing business through word of mouth.
The fundamentals are done and the business is now a legitimate working entity, I'm looking for all the maximized write-offs and expenses that I can use to take money out. I have the van, insurance, company insurance and a cell phone to use. I have no employees, not keeping an inventory and use my home computer for the book-keeping.
Simply put, what other legal options as a sole proprieter are there that I should be using that maybe aren't widely known or easily missed?
