Down the pipeline I heard that ICBC may be trying to, or are going to, institute a method of changing the way a ticket is disputed.
As it stands, you can currently dispute a ticket by sending it to the dispute center. They inform you of a court date at which time you have the right to defend the allegation against you. You are presumed INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY OR ACCEPT GUILT FOR THE ALLEGATION.
What I heard was:
If you get a ticket then ICBC would add the cost of the ticket directly to your insurance renewal AND THEN YOU COULD DISPUTE IT.
In other words you ARE GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT.
I find this to be totally against our democratic principle and, should it be an idea that ICBC is pursuing, that it get stopped before it ever occurs.
If you know anything about this, please post up.
Remember please......it was hearsay...although it came from an ICBC employee.
