Ted Talks. #1 Everything I need to know I learned in Kindergarten.

    1. If you open it, close it.

    2. If you turn it on, turn it off.

    3. If you unlock it, lock it up.

    4. If you break it, admit it.

    5. If you can't fix it, call in someone who can.

    6. If you borrow it, return it.

    7. If you value it, take care of it.

    8. If you make a mess, clean it up.

    9. If you move it, put it back.

    10. If it belongs to someone else, get permission to use it.

    11. If you don't know how to operate it, leave it alone.

    12. If it's none of your business, don't ask questions.

Today in Ted Talks we address some basic rules for living and getting along. Now I would be the first to say that I detest rules. However even I agree that some basic rules can go a long way to making your short stay on this planet an enjoyable one.

Above are the basic rules. Follow them and you will have a happy day and make others happy by being a respectful, considerate and kind person. Just like you were taught in Kindergarten. It makes me sad that I have to remind people of these basic rules but with all the plugging into technology and unplugging into basic civility I feel compelled. Sometimes I feel like The Omega man. Look that one up people.

Should I start off my first Ted Talks with a long winded rant or should I just go slow and over some good advice. I think I will stick with good advice because sometimes common sense is not that common. Which brings me to a point I would like to make.

When you walk up a flight of stairs, where do you walk? In the middle? On the left? On the right? The correct answer of course is on the right. Just like driving. However as I have discovered like some people who should not have a license the same could be said for people who are walking. Up a flight of stairs you walk to the right. With that your right hand can grasp the rail and pull you along if you need assistance. The left hand is free to catch clods who are falling down the stairs because they are texting and miss a step. Walking and driving are the same. Stay to the right and be safe. It's so easy a five year old can do it. Right? What happens to people when they leave school? Do there brains suddenly leave there bodies? Or is it the old "I am the most important person in the world routine". I got news for you. We are all important. We are all the same and we all have to live together. So follow the basic rules and lets start with a level playing field.
It's not just an oil change, It's an experience.
    We're not talented, We're charming.
When in doubt, Let EMS figure it out.
Do not mistake my kindness for weakness.

Nice reminder. I can't begin to count the amount of people I know who don't know those rules.

Some people are like Slinkies ...
Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
