Anyone use these?
They're currently on sale at 40% off...
Backstory: my main bike is an '89 Honda CB-1 -- kinda small, kinda cheap, kinda beat-up (kinda like me!) -- but loads of fun, and I love it!
This year I resolved to spend some of my limited moto funds on suspension upgrades, and made the pilgrimage to Rod at RMR.
What a positive experience!
We had a great early conversation to figure out the best bang-for-the-buck;
PLUS: I was lucky to find a (super-rare) Fox-TC shock for my bike on eBay and got it for a good price.
We booked a date.
The stock Showa forks were rebuilt, replacing the worn-out springs with RaceTechs (0.85kg/mm), and tuned using specific fork oil weight (15) & height (160mm).
Rod tested the used Fox-TC on his dyno rig and pronounced it good (phew!) and installed and tuned it for me.
(The stock Honda shock had only pre-load, whereas the Twin-Click has compression & rebound dampening as well as +/-11mm ride height!)
The handling is transformed! From the moment I first pulled away, I got a huge grin on my face
In the parking lot I had to play around with slow-speed maneuvers for a bit, then took it for a rip around Abby.
It seriously is a different bike now and I'm *so* happy!
Anyways, Rod advised that the finishing touch would be the ricor intiminators (over RaceTech Gold Valve Emulators), but at >$300 had to go on my "maybe for later if I can scrape up the money" list.
(with a WCSS Race course booked, and track ambitions, I have to be reasonable... heh, and I was hoping to spend a little cash on cosmetics, so my bike wouldn't look like such a beater).
Then today I find out the intiminators are 40% off...
I searched BCSB and found one marginal hit?
