That guy is well known. He's usually sitting at on/off ramps on the #1 throughout West Van.

I like this. Enforcement on distracted drivers and red light runners at intersections. THAT's where we need more enforcement dollars going. The sign? Classy. Give that cop a raise.

    i agree totally
the abbotsford police are sponsoring so many different things these days they need all the revenue they can get
i see they are now driving around a hummer with a full plastic wrap of advertising
this hummer was seized in a drug bust apparently

    good on them i guess
the apd is getting to be quite wealthy so i would imagine the schemes they conjour up to bust people will be getting much more creative

Seen that exact truck on Hastings in Burnaby. Looks like a pos, but those red and blues from his canopy are bright.

They are (from what I remember) given to the RCMP by ICBC. ICBC repairs some written off vehicles to turn them into police undercover units. They are given to the RCMP for traffic violations only. They are rotated through cities so you can't get familiar with them. There was a big thread on here with along list of cars they are using.

I have had the pleasure of being pulled over by an officer driving that car. Really nice officer. Had a nice chat with him.

Have you guys been riding/driving around with your eyes closed? There's been so many incognito cop cars out on the roads for years and years.

I nearly got T-boned in Abbotsford by one of these guys who was obviously in a huge hurry to get somewhere... Cool looking police car, but my only gripe.....

...If you're going to race around like an asshole, please turn on your lights so that we can tell you're about to do so!

They've always been around, seems like they're picking less conspicuous ghost cars now, as opposed to just unmarked cop cars. Mini vans, Nissan Altimas, chargers... Not the car you would expect to be a cop.

Abbotsford has an expensive hockey team and new arena to pay for.

BTW, Freeway patrol RCMP has a slate grey Ford ranger pickup with full hidden light kit.

Especially if the cop is hiding out in unusual/unexpected location and is just using to poach and no other good reason...
