    Don't Park Here!

...or else you will get a ticket and get towed. I have seen other bikes parked here so decided to try it out as it is a block away from my work. As I was bringing a car around for the valet I saw a meter guy writing a ticket for my bike. The image below is old, as there is now a painted quadrangle there just like any other metered or non-metered motorcycle spot., but the sign only has a "no stopping" symbol without a green circle with a motorcycle inside. I managed to catch up with the guy who wrote the ticket, he said that he was unsure what to do in the situation because he recognized that it is misleading, so he called his supervisor, who told him to ticket it but not tow it. He figured that they would probably be installing a meter there soon, but for now it's best to avoid it. Very frustrating...

    Motorcycle Parking for UBC Students

Went to get a permit sticker for my bike today, learned that if you already have a student flexpass parking pass, and you can prove that the car you use the flexpass for and the motorcycle are both registered with you as the owner, you can get a complimentary sticker for your bike until your car's parking pass runs out. So bring the registration for your car and bike to the parking office, get a sticker for your bike for free, rather than paying $40/month. Hope this helps!

There's also free parking here if you don't have a flex pass:

Don't bother buying motorcycle parking at UBC. They'll ticket until they're blue but won't tow. There's a less of a chance of your bike being spat on/kicked over compared to parking it in the designated lot near the hospital.

Note to self, never get a job downtown unless it's 5 minute walk from the Losertrain.

why don't be start taxing the cyclists too. They get their own lanes. Seems reasonable.

Whoops! I said it seems reasonable. It will never happen.
