I stand corrected!.....After chatting with my older brother he informed me that it was probably an old Norton/Villiers engine he was going to restore......Apparently a 350, although he couldn't remember exactly either!

Those are extremely fine examples of Vincent's handiwork!.....Also great job you've done restoring them both!.....Congratulations on your show win in Cali!

My Dad's friend back in Winnipeg, Tiny Robbins, had a nice original example of a Black Shadow, and Jay Leno even came to his shop to look at it when he was pursueing one for purchase back in the late 70's..... I hope I could be one of the lucky ones' to get the chance to hear it run when you offer the opportunity!....Are you putting either of them in the show in Tswassen at the end of the month?...

Depends on the weather, If it's OK I'll likely ride the twin, but if it's shitty probably trailer both. It's because I'm not a fan of being cold and wet. First ride out on the twin, and I could no longer advertise "Never riddenn in the rain" got caught in a 10 min piss down on Glover road in Langley!

I think we're in the same fan club!....lol

Oh well, that just means it's officially initiated, once again, as a real motorcycle and not rebuilt just for posing!....

They are both HRD's technically - The Vincent-HRD - as real HRD's were made in the 20's, before Vincent bought the company. Anyway after an L series John Deere you would feel more at home on my 1952 John Deere model 40, can't have you stepping up too far too fast, kinda like a noob wanting to buy a litre bike right off!! lol

Started it up on Monday morning -- after some 55 years it lit off first kick -- even shocked me! However a couple of little issues and one significant, a massive oil leak around a cam bushing, all day today with the teardown, re and re and back together -- took 3 boots to start. I'll have them at the Brit Car show in Ft Langley on Sunday, under the tent if it rains. Just for fun we might have to start it ------ very noisy with 12 to 1 piston and straight pipe. Rattle some windows.
