Victoria police Dept. new bikes from USA

This will ruffle feathers with the local bike dealers! Seems Victoria Police is buying new bikes from a U.S dealer. And, the bikes are Victory!!! LOL

The company's focus is safety, he said. The bike is designed to protect a rider's legs and feet, commonly injured, if it tips. One safety feature limits it falling to a maximum of 34 degrees and no more. The bikes are also comfortable for riders, who do not have to hunch over, he said.

i didnt know rubbing floorboards were now a "safety feature" instead of a design short coming

The Victoria Police will have quite the reality check when their officers go from the Honda ST to this bike

I have yet to meet a cop on a bike who can keep up.

    That includes you Sikorsky.

...maybe if local dealers weren't fucking us up the ass on pricing Victoria Police Dept would have bought their Victory's locally...or bought something else

I wonder if the cops will now have to go into the "secondary" service line, behind those that "support local dealers" hahahahah

while there at it why don't they outsource some members aswell , probably find a police chief cheaper and they don't have to train anyone to service him either

Victoria Police don't chase anyone on bikes....they cruise around town. They leave that job for Saanich PD on ST1300s. After all that's the area where most of the riding roads are.

That is ridonkulous. Don't they have anybody with half a brain? The Concours or the ST run circles around that bike. 22 departments across the entire United States, 2 in Canada? There's a reason for that.

there are some good backroads around prospect lake that would make it fun being chased by one of those space shuttles

Saanich PD ride BMW's. Vic PD has/had the 1300's. There is no Victory dealer on the Island to service the bikes. The nearest dealer is in Langley I think.

I'm sure the decision was the best one financially. This is nothing more than Victory buying market share in the police motorcycle segment. It's brand development and very important.

These guys on the island could have sold $24,000 bikes for $15,000... it wouldn't have been enough. Victory probably sold the bikes for a token amount.
