So almost every day for the last year I have passed mikethebikes s1krr when I leave in the morning and lately I have been thinking that I want a new bike.
So I now ask all of you, what reasons are there to not buy an S1000RR?

What are you looking for in a motorcycle? It's a great bike... but does it suit your needs and sing to you when you ride it.

I wouldn't buy one, it has better DTC programming, more rain setting power, better ABS, revised front and rear suspension, shorter wheelbase and the throttle has to turn 11% less to reach WFO.
You should buy one of those diesel Vstrom behemoths and call it a day.
If you are going to ride it in BC you might as well set your drivers license on fire.

Actually, I own one of the very first few that arrived in BC back in 2010 and still ride it.
Depends on what you want to do and how you want to ride. It's no V-Strom so don't expect it to be one.
Because the 1199 base is a better buy for the money.
McFly is one of the very few around here that would know how to properly get the most out of this bike....so its not a question of suitabilty - just a case of "is this the one"...vs other liter bikes I guess.

Well guess what I used to own a Ducati 999, I'll let you figure out why I now own a S1000rr
I wouldn't even compare a 999 to the 1x98. Total different ball game, and the 1199 is an entirely new machine to that.
It's kind of like saying don't go for the S1000RR based on BMW's previous bikes. The S1000RR changed the game.
