    Earth Hour (March 31) 8:30-9:30pm

Earth Hour is Today! (March 31) between 8:30 and 9:30pm.

Everyone is encouraged to turn off non essential power for an hour to impact global climate change!

As usual, we will have every possible electrical implement going at the Bandito Lair. Hair dryers will be plugged into sockets and hanging from the wall - going full force. All the computers will be going... TV's... radio's... hell, the BLENDER will be going - and we won't be making anything but blended water.

I hope enviro family sits around.. hubby, wife and two kids (insert cat or dog)... playing scrabble by candle light. And I hope someone knocks the candle over and their house burns to the ground (with them all escaping of course).

I'll be making sure that even if 50 of you lemmings on BCSB participate, it will be completely neutralized by my antics.

This year I'm stepping it up a notch, I'm plugging in the outdoor Christmas lights... with a flasher attachment so the blink on and off for the full hour. I've got my range hood going right now, just for fun... to waste a little extra juice. Half my house is lit up right now and nobody else is even up. The outdoor lights are on and it's light outside.

Gotta run... my 22n'd slice of toast just popped up. I'm not eating, I'm just toasting loafs all morning.

Are you an earth day supporter? Tell me your story. On second thought, don't bother... I don't give a shit.

I want to hear from all of you who think this is complete rubbish. Tell me what YOU are doing to waste as much power as possible. Wash and dry your entire clothing today. Do the bedsheets. RUN EVERY SINGLE DISH YOU OWN through the dishwaster today. Turn the garberator on for like... 3 hours straight. How creative are you at flying in the face of the enviro peeps?

Turn your heat up to 35 and open all the windows. I'm going to turn my oven to clean in a few minutes... and I'll repeat that cycle at LEAST 5 times today. The amount of power it wastes is astonishing!

For the ladies out there wanting to waste power, I'd recommend the Hitachi Magic Wand. It's wallplug, so it wastes electricity... and it's robust.. industrial if you will. Great way to spend the hour. After that, pour a hot bath... wasting more power... and lay in the tub for a bit with bubblebath. Turn the lights off, but burn some petroleum based candles to continue with the enviro damage.

Hahha dont you also have some welding to do? Might as well fire up the compressor too incase you need to blow some dust off the work bench when you're done!

I'll turn the compressor on for sure, and open the the bleeder valve so it never fills the tank... just keeps pumping for the hour.

Also on the agenda will be using the garage door opener to keep the door going up and down.

Sweet! You can also kick it up a notch by letting your cars idle in the driveway...just let those suckers run all day out there, don't forget to fill the gas tanks first!

I'll be driving by to make sure you're keepin it real! haha

Bandito, I think yer doin it wrong

I'm going to run all my 2-stroke smokers. That alone will put way more CO2 into the environment than running a few electrics. Besides, BC is all hydro power anyways, so our impact on the earth due to power use is very clean. C'mon man, get with it!
