Iv'e seen a couple of build threads for other members bikes, so I figured that I post one of my own..
Here's the scoop, my buddy got his hands on a 01 ninja zx9-r, that has kissed the ground pretty good, so I made a deal to buy it from him, and now she's mine.
I brought it home all in pieces, and went to work on it right away.
Things it needed to get running again were;
. Stator cover replaced ( due to the fact the other one had a gaping hole in the bottom from being laid down ) - COVER HAS BEEN REPLACED
. Keys to be made ( due to the fact the ONLY key was broken off in the ignition ) - KEYS HAVE BEEN MADE
. Coolant lines hooked back up - ALL HOOKED BACK UP
. Oil - SHES FULL
. Spark plug cleanin - CLEAN
. Gas tank flush - FLUSHED
. Carb clean - CLEAN
. All filters changed - CHANGED
. Triangular sized hole in the frame near air duct on the left side to be patched up
So I began to start my work on it and after 11 hours straight working on it she lives!
Now time to make it pretty again.
Things on list are;
. Get a Headlight and mount it - GOT ONE AND SHES ON
. Gauge mounting - MOUNTED
. Muffler can mounting to rear set - ON BUT JIMMY RIGGED
. Taillight hook up - WORKING
. Rear turn signals hook up - WORKING
. Mach up front turn signal brackets - MACHED UP BUT GOTTA PAINT
. Hook up front turn signals - WORKING
. Get and mount mirrors
. Hook up my new alarm and remote start system
. Hook up and mount horn - MOUNTED AND WORKING
That's just the beginning for what I'm going to do to this thing...
I will be updating you guys every step on the way with new info and new pictures...
Here's the link to my photobucket album with all the pics instead of flooding the thread with too many pics I so far have 31 pics in the album and there are more to come!!
Took it for a rip up and down the street yesterday and she rides straight which is surprising considering what its been through and with the hole in the frame
Its still a work in progress and can't wait to take it to the streets and rip it up
