looking to upgrade gloves for this season, I would like them to be
comfortable while providing top safety options like wrist & palm
support, kevlar maybe?

please let me know what is out there in a gauntlet glove.

Used teknics for years.. comfee in touring.. unfortunately not
much in the safety padding area..

not lookin' for a 300 buck glove either.. seen some offerings from

alpinstrars but i'm not a big fan of theirs.. tnx!

I got a pair of RS Taichi and Knox Handroids this year. Both great, the Knox has a longer gauntlet which I like.

model # on the taichi i can look up? i'm a copy cat.. thanks 4 the quick response ..

ooh, nice,,,

bwahahhaha..

The rest of your body may be mangled beyond recognition in a serious motorcycle accident,
but your hand will be pristine from the wrist up when the police find it in a nearby ditch thanks to the Handroid glove
.

I have a set of Tap-Moto gauntlets that have all the bells and whistles, but are still quite comfortable. Cost me less than a hundred at Imperial.

+100. Kangaroo palm! Very nice fitting as well. It feels as close to wearing nothing as all as it gets when grabbing onto the controls. Crashed in mine once already, gloves barely received any noticeable damage. Broke my wrist still, but no road rash =]

tap-5300
"A" Grade cowhide aniline leather
Thermoplastic protectors on fingers
Finger Bridge on 4th and 5th digits
Comfort Digit Construction
Leather stretch panels
Perforated leather on finger sides
External finger tip stitching
Thermoplastic vented knuckle protectors
Steel mesh protector on palm
Velcro wrist closure with strap & buckle
Double wrap gauntlet with high density rubber panels

dont see kangaroo leather ??

should have mentioned... this is a nice option for comfort

I think the 2011 model got rid of the kangaroo leather because it absorbs moisture. Not a big deal if you're a fairweather rider like myself, but I guess it caused issues from the 'hardcore' all-year riders.

Stop by daytona in surrey and see if they still have some of the old stock left. It was on sale when I went there and I think I paid less than $100 for the pair compared to the newer model. I would have bought the new model if they had it in my size, but I'm kind of glad I didn't.

I highly recommend these gloves. Very similar to the tap moto gloves that were posted with knox armor as an added bonus. Good price as well. My friend bought these and they are also very comfortable and good quality gloves.

Guys who carry rs Taichi had them at the bike show.
Sameones who pulled the douchey move at the BBQ last fall.

Blair at sv racing parts had them at the Pitt meadows track day too.

taichi wrx gloves are pretty good value at $140.

The Knox BioMechs also have the wrist sliders and they are a bit cheaper than the Handroids;

the Teknic Lightning have them as well, sub $100 glove @ http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=12949

I picked up some of those Tap-Moto gloves @ the bike show and they are super comfy so far.

+1 to Redline. Vince and Gabriel go out of their way to help you get the right sizes to you.

The Handroid is my favorite of the 2 pairs. Cooler than the Taichis due to perforations. My wife's opinion is that they are "ridiculous". :) but I really like them. The kangaroo palm is nice and overall they are really comfortable.

I was waiting for you to post that.. lmao... most women would think that..

only thing i dont like about them... & it has nothing to do with what a great glove they are...
is all that hardware would be maddening when touring, trying to juggle other stuff in & out of the
luggage, or even tank bag & such.. but I can see me picking up some less robotech style ones for touring duty ..

Helimot

I have hundreds of thousands of kms on Buffalo Pros. Brilliant gloves.

Helmut now has designed an even more heavy duty version the B11 Sport Glove, which I will upgrade to

Summer riding in Desert Temps, You can fill these up with water and have cooling on your hands and wrists for about 2 hours.

Helimot also sells Daytona Boots, long wait times for delivery but worth every dollar.

I have gone for a slide wearing the Helimots, as have a few friends. So far no issues.

Bacchus, did you check these out?

Really comfortable gloves, $200 range.

nope, but then thats what i have you for. i'm a fan of teknic

I love the nuckle protection with movable over lay so it doesnt pull on the glove when you make a fist..
i passed on dainese cause they were horrible in that area, results in tight fit on knuckles... not confidence inspiring.. even in the right size glove

also loving the kevlar palm .wrist .pinky protection!

Specific Carpal protection <.

..the whole glove looks like knox biomech as well

question for sikorsky, does the exo-skeleton finger system on handroid get in the way at all? on levers i mean?

still lovin' that glove

I think i'll pick up a handroid after-all, if I feel like trying something different down the line..
i can always re-sell & *down-grade to teknics or biomech at no loss...
