I'm a Senior....that's probably what precipitated the "event" at the gas station yesterday evening. After the Canucks finally ceased to embarass themselves and went off into the sunset, I decided to go and gas up the bike.
I went to the Petrocan station on the corner of Williams and #3Rd, put my bike up on its centre stand and started getting my credit card out to start the fill. A middle aged guy immediately galloped over and got in between me and the pump. 'I vill do dat, sir", he said. He did the card, then very, very carefully offered the nozzle up to the tank, filled it and then ever so carefully removed the nozzle, not letting a drop hit my tank.
"I had a Royal Enfield back in India" he said. "Ah" I said, rather impressed with the care he had taken.
He then positioned himself in between me and the bike....I had to ask him to move and he moved to the back of the bike.
Then, standing on the left of my bike, left hand on grip, right hand on passenger grab handle, I rocked my bike forward, off the centre stand (engine not yet running) and the bike suddenly and unexpectedly surged forward......I was barely able to save it from going over on its right side.
This clown had decided to "help" me get the bike off the centre stand. I didn't notice that he'd put both hands on the back of the seat and had given a huge push as I rocked it off the stand.
I must admit a little bit of Grandpa Rage ensued........
So, watch out for this overly-helpful attendent, particularly if you're over 60.
