I recall reading about a guy that pretty much destroyed an FJR trying (and failing) to make it to Deadhorse. But to take that low slung beast... It may only be 828 miles to the water, but he has another 828 miles getting back out.

That rear tire is a car tire. Having researched tires and the Dalton Highway extensively, Steve concluded that a run flat snow tire was the best choice. It should handle well if he encounters snow, and it will get him to the end of the road if he suffers a puncture. Steve has been running a car tire on the rear of the bike in recent months to get used to the handling, and he said it’s not drastically different from the stock tire.
Of course, there are many Harley's, Gold Wing's and FJR's that have made it to Prudhoe and back out again. Feature John Ryan who made Prudhoe to Key West FL
