On 2012-06-14, at approx 19:00 hrs, Surrey R.C.M.P. received several
911 calls reporting a collision involving two vehicles and a motorcycle,
that had occurred in the 6800 block of King George Blvd, Surrey, B.C.
Surrey R.C.M.P. General Duty and Traffic members attended to the scene.
On scene investigation determined that a van had been traveling
southbound in the slow or curb lane, when it slowed to turn right into
one of the business in the block. A motorcycle was traveling in the
marked bicycle lane, caught up to the van, sideswiped the van on the
passenger side, and bounced off the van, The motorcycle then struck a
pickup truck that was stopped, as it was waiting to pull out of the same
business to turn right onto King George Blvd. The driver, a 22 year
old resident of Surrey, B.C and lone occupant of a motorcycle had
suffered serious leg injuries as a result of the collision, and was
transported to hospital by Air Ambulance with non life threatening, but
serious injuries. Alcohol and Drugs are not considered factors in this
collision. The Drivers and passengers in the van and the pickup were
