So I was out and about yesterday running some errands when lo an behold I happened upon a school zone which turned into a playground zone (both specifically 30 km/h 24/7). Now I'm not exactly known for riding slowly by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't screw around when there are kids nearby. They're far to unpredictable and if I ever wound up running one over and killing/maiming one I'd more than likely end up eating a bullet. I couldn't deal with it especially if it was because I was being a jackass on the street. Anyway There were no kids around and I had some retard in a CRV hot on my ass so rather than instigate a situation and hopefully put some space between us, I was going 37km/h (reasonable, I think). The guy tries to squeeze by on the right so I edge over in front of him and motion for him to back off (at this point I'm riding in position 3) so he whips himself over to the left side of the lane I'm in, rides the double solid line and narrowly misses me, so I try to boot in his rear quarter panel but I miss. By this time we're past the 30k zone so I pull up in front of him and try to get him to pull over but instead he passes me again. I caught up with him at a red light (now he's on his cell phone). I gave him the most severe toungelashing I've ever administered in my life while he sits there telling me he has 911 on the phone. I basically told him if he ever pulls that shit with me again I'll break his jaw. This is the excuse he gave me "I'm sorry, I thought you were going slow because you were learning to ride, so I went around." I let him know in no uncertain terms that it was acceptable and that you don't for any reason pass a bike in his own lane... ever.
This has happened to me a few times now and I'm sick of it! We have all these BS laws to regulate motorcycles but not one iota of effort to educate drivers of their responsibility to maintain a margin of safety between them and any other vehicle on the road. Eff this bullshit nanny state of BC and it's over population of self-entitled ass-holes!
I'm really not quick to anger. There was a time when my temper was pretty volatile but that's not the case here. If I had to make an emergency stop or if I had a wipeout in front of this clown he would have run me over and I would have died. He needed to understand the problem with his retarded actions.
I know several very new riders that I worry about because of these morons running the streets in their SUVs and risking everyone's life and it needs to stop.
